Siman 680, se'if 1

What must be done to see that the wind does not extinguish one's Shabbos evening Chanukah candle when the door is opened? ["Halacha Sources" presentation of this entire siman]

The Shulchan Aruch writes: One has to place something [in such a way as] to be a barrier between the "candles" and the entrance.

[Classic sources: Shabbos 120b with Rashi.]

Siman 680, se'if 2

May one attach one's Shabbos evening Chanukah candle to the back of one's door itself?

The Shulchan Aruch writes (put simply): [The primary Halachic position is that] it is assur; [however,] "there is someone who holds" that it is muttar.

The Rema adds: See above [O.C.] siman 276 se'if 1 [where no lenient position is even mentioned (Mishnah Berurah)].

[Classic sources: Shabbos 120b with Tosafos.]
